These are some compositions I've been working on in the past few days. I've been exploring a lot with lighting and composition, as well as trying to clean up my style a bit. Hope you like them.

I've had the pleasure of coordonating the very talented Concept Art team for Modern Combat 5: Blackout for well over 1 year, so I'm proud to present our collective work from the game.

Hi guys,

It's been a while since I've posted anything on my blog, but finally the time has come to share with you the work I've been doing for the past year.

1

An afterwork sketch, initially started as an experiment with tones and shapes, trying to obtain depth without abusing the levels and contrasts, but reworked a bit because I was unsatisfied with the final result. Also added a work in progress explaining the technique I used for this image.

I've been extremely busy lately, with no time to paint as much as I used to (one of the negative side effects of being an AD), but I want to slowly start and fix this very important issue for me.

I've started with this quick doodle during my lunch time just to get me warmed up a bit.

Here’s a selection of early development concepts I did for Alien Rage, back in the days when I was working as a concept artist for City Interactive.

I don't know if you're aware or not of what's happening in Romania, regarding the biggest mining exploitation in Europe, using cyanide, at Rosia Montana.

A new B&W illustration from my new project, picturing a journey through some unexpected places. This time, a window in space, a place where two universes touch, merging time and space.

More updates soon.

Another B&W illustration i made in my break at work today. I went with the same idea as "Traveler", and I'm thinking of oranizing them all in a new project, that will mostly include B&W compositions.

Since I've been really busy at work these past 2 months, I wasn't able to find the time to paint as much as I used to, and it pains me very much. I want to get back on track, and this is the first composition from what I hope to be a long series of paintings, one each day.

Finally, the E3 teaser for Modern Combat 5, the project I'm currently art directing, is out. Most of the scenes in this trailer were done before I started working on the project, and they look really good.

It is always nice to see how old pieces come to life once you take some time and give them some love again. These 2 just did.....for me.

I did this project last year for the wonderful team from Geekcelerator. I helped them develop the visual direction for the website, creating the homepage illustration as well as the layouts for the submenu's.

For more info, please visit http://www.geekcelerator.com/.

These are the characters i developed for my Project AaeRA.

The AaeRI Priestesses are some of the most important and powerful members of their society and their knowledge is priceless and mandatory for the proper governing of their society.

I wanted to take my time to do some concept art lately. In the past months, I've tried to develop my artistic language through color and composition, ignoring, most of the time, the production concept art from my works.

Guardians

The Forbidden Zone

My latest work, an intimate moment between a mother dragon and her baby. I know everybody likes to see armored dragons in epic battles bringing gore and rampage, but I wanted to show the other side of them.

This is a piece I just finished inspired by the Marvel Universe of Silver Surfer. I pictured the scene when Galactus arrives and starts eating away an entire solar system.

Silver Surfer close-up.

For a really long time i wanted to make an "Alien" inspired piece, si i finally managed to start working on one.  After some 10 hours of work and one weekend into it, this is what i managed to come up with. I might continue it tomorrow, or not...it depends on how I'll feel about it tomorrow.

I dedicate this one to my friend and colleague I sincerely respect here at Trixter, Farhad Yusufi. He is one of the best 3D artists I've met so far in the industry,  and because he also bought me chocolate today, I've dedicated this one to him.

A speedpaint i did just to warm me up a bit. Arround 1h 20 min, so I had little eye for details in this one.

2

Today's lunch matte-painting.

I was inspired today to do a zombie scene. I haven't done this in a while, and it's always fun to do them. I'm concetrating myself toward a more cinematic look&feel from now on, so I hope I started well with this one.

Another afterwork sketch with a big cyclop and his big stick(s) defending his pass.

A lunch break illustration of a guy who doesn't know where home is.

A fanart sketch of Gabriel from the amazing LMS by Danny LuVisi.

New speed to clear my mind. I had so much fun doing this one, need to research more in this direction in the future.

Another research sketch. Been trying different techniques on this one, but I still have to research more.

My first matte painting in 2013. I'm still fascinated with the exploration ideas, they took over :).

Christmas Card I painted for Trixter.

Wednesday Research. Took arround 1h30, and tried some random stuff.

Tuesday Research.
